The ugly side of fame and Charice

Even Charice is not immune to fame's dark side.

There is a saying in the Philippines, "Ang puno na hitik ang bunga ay pinupukol."

or anywhere there is a tree brimming with fruits, expect for it to be stoned (with the hopes that its fruits will fall and so that a lot of people will partake of its bounty).

The same could be said of Charice and her success that it seems her grandmother (her mother's mom) has made a fictional issue, a mountain out of an anthill, with the hopes of getting her own 15 minutes of fame (and possibly money too.)

Charice has the last word in this distasteful gossip.  When asked what she thinks of the whole brouhaha, she is wise when she says, "I hope everything will be settled and everyone will find it in their heart to forgive.  If they think we are hurting them, we are just as hurting - if not more."
